Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Frequented California Shoreline
A helicopter soaring near a crowded coastal shoreline abruptly started spinning out of control, finally descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm fronds as beachgoers watched.
Videos shared on the internet show the helicopter commencing to spiral over Huntington Beach then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a steps close to the shoreline route.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on that day.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
